Project Description:
This project includes renovation of an existing 6-story building originally built in 1914 with additions in 1931, along with reconstruction of the entire interior for use as GSA office, retail, and postal museum. Total project size is 1.2 million square feet and includes eighteen new elevators, 4 escalators, a new cafeteria, all new lobby finish work, decorative plaster ceilings, marble wainscot, marble floors and a new 90 foot high atrium. Over 20,000 cubic yards of concrete was poured with 2,200 tons of structural steel.
