The facility is located on an 80-acre site at Aberdeen Proving Ground. The facility totals 292,000 gross square feet. Laboratories occupy 128,771 net square feet. They vary in size from 50 to 7,000 net square feet. Clear heights vary from 8 to 20 feet with most labs being in the 10 to 16 foot range. One hundred eighty-five heights separate labs have been provided. Offices and support areas occupy 42,449 net square feet. The structural steel frame is exposed, classified as unprotected non-combustible and is 100% protected by a wet pipe automation fire protection system. The building design incorporates features, which permit future flexibility to change laboratory functions and services. Laboratory utilities are distributed along primary lines with secondary connections to labs, which need them. Additional secondary lines can be added in the future with minimal effort.
