CENTRIFUGE DEWATERING FACILITY

Project Description:
This project includes extensive demolition of sludge vacuum filters, vacuum pumps, blended sludge pumps and belt conveyors located on a multi-level existing solids processing building. New York includes installation of new structural steel supported raised concrete operating deck for six (6) new and one (1) existing 300 hp Dewatering centrifuge, each producing up to 65 dry tons per day of sludge. New equipment is presently being installed including sludge grinders, chemical feed pumps and chemical batching tanks and mixers.

DUAL PURPOSE SEDIMENTATION BASINS

Project Description: Project consists of the construction of eight-(8) new sedimentation basins (325' wide x 320' long x 20' deep) and associated galleries, conduits, channels, and pump stations including four (4) new sealer pumps capable of pumping 51,000 GMP.  Basins will be used as conventional sedimentation structures and also nitrification/sedimentation for the activated sludge processes on this 6-acre site.  Plant capacity will be increased from 309-MGD to 370-MGD.  This expansion program involved managing the entire construction phase while ongoing operation of the existing facility is maintained.  Specifically, special attention was given to preserve an existing 20' x 10' effluent conduit, and a 230 KV Feeder and also to relocate an existing 1308 KV duct bank. 

WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY

Project Description:
This project is an upgrade and expansion to the existing Danbury Water Pollution control Facility and increases the flow rate from 14-MGD to 28-MGD.  Work included new structures to facilitate preliminary, primary, secondary, and advanced treatment such as a new primary sludge pump station, new trickling filters, 5 new pump lift stations, nitrification tanks, a chemical storage building, a nitrification pump and blower building, final settling tanks, chlorination/dechlorination area, multiple anaerobic digesters, a sludge dewatering building, three new belt filter presses, and a new generator.  This project also included a new addition to the existing plant operations building.

HINGHAM WATER TREATMENT PLANT

Location: Hingham, MA

Project Description:
This water treatment facility is located on property owned by the Water Company on the East Side of Main Street in the Town of Hingham, Massachusetts.  The work included, but not limited to, the construction of a 7 million gallon per day drinking water treatment plant, a 5 million gallon per day water pumping station, demolition, rehabilitation and modifications to existing water pumping stations and other water system facilities.
